Important News for our Analyzer Customers
Because Analyzer only works properly in legacy versions of FileMaker Pro, we've decided to discontinue the product. The schedule for this is as follows:
- Product Sales ENDED: Sept 1st, 2007
- Product Support Ends: Mar 1st, 2008
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.

FileMaker Pro 7 support
Analyzer 4.0 has been completely redesigned to work with the Database
Design Report (DDR) generated by FileMaker Developer 7. If you wish
to analyze a DDR from a previous version of FileMaker, please look
at our Analyzer 3.6 product.
-
Track Multiple Solutions and Analyses
You can run Analyzer 4.0 on multiple FileMaker solutions and then run
multiple analyses on each of those solutions. Keeping track of these
multiple analyses in Analyzer 4.0 is easy.
-
Compare Any Two Analyses
One powerful feature of Analyzer 4.0 is the ability to run a comparison
between two different analyses for a single solution. The resulting report will outline
in great detail what the differences are between the two. This is
a useful aid in tracking changes between versions of a solution.
-
Red Dots™
Follow the red dots to find problems lurking deep in your FileMaker
solution. Red problem dots appear for problems like missing fields,
tables, functions, scripts, relationships with non-matching key field types.
-
Orange Dots™
Orange dots in Analyzer 4.0 indicate dependencies. When an
item is flagged with an orange dot, there are elements on which it
depends. For example, a calculation may have other fields that it
relies on to complete its calculation. In this case the fields will
be reported as dependencies. It will also report functions as dependencies.
-
Green Dots™
Items flagged with a green dot are referenced by other elements.
For example, a field my be referenced by a relationship, by being present
on a layout, or by a particular script step. (Excludes merge fields and fields included in an evaluate function.)

-
Faster Then Ever Before
The amount of time it takes to read the Database Design Report (DDR)
and do the analysis has been greatly reduced. Simple solutions will
be analyzed in seconds while complex solutions are processed in minutes.
-
Instant Searching
Analyzer 4.0 contains a powerful search engine that can instantly search
your solution for elements that match your criteria. For example,
you can find every "Show Message" script step or every
layout named "Layout #1." Search results can also be printed
out in a report format. Any developer faced with making a change
across an entire solution will find this feature invaluable.
- Script Tracing
Analyzer makes following scripts easy. To make navigation simpler,
each "Perform Script" step is a hyperlink that will take
you directly to the script being called. There is also a complete
Script Trace report that replaces every "Perform Script" with
the contents of the script itself. Complex scripts become easier
to understand with Analyzer 4.0.
- Comprehensive Documentation
Analyzer records every detail of every element in your solution. You
can then add notes to any element. When you need documentation, just
print the element reports. In Analyzer 4.0, you can also print a
single report containing all your notes. This reporting puts all
your functional documentation together in one place.
- Easy Navigation
navigating through the analysis of your solution is effortless. You
can maneuver between the analysis results from one database to another,
one element to another, or even between any previously viewed items
in your history.
